Day 1: Arrival Anchorage
Transfer to the hotel. Meeting to get aquainted with your fellow travellers.
Day 2: Anchorage - Denali
leave Alaskas largest city towards Denali National Park.
The opportunity for a flight to Mount McKinley (optional).
Day 3: Denali National Park
Without a doubt this is one of the highlights of Alaska. Denali wildlife tour, weather permitting you will get to see majestic Mount McKinley, the highest mountain in the U.S.A.. Wildlife, with a little luck you will see wolves, dall sheep, moose, caribou and grizzly bears.
Day 4: Denali National Park - Fairbanks
Fairbanks will be reached early in the afternoon. Perhaps you would like to visit the Alaska Dog Mushing Museum, or treat yourself to some king crabs!
Day 5: Fairbanks - Tok
Today we see the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, In Delta Junction we meet the Alaska Highway and drop in to the local visitor center.
Day 6: Tok - Dawson City
The journey continues via the Top of the World Highway. Beautiful tundra and we cross the border at Little Gold Creek, which is the checkpoint between Canada and the U.S.A.. We will cross the Yukon River by ferry to reach Dawson City.
Day 7: Dawson City
Visit Bonanza Creek, the Jack London cabin, and the Midnight Dome, Dawson City's very own mountain, are on the agenda, as is the remarkable Gold Diggers Museum.
Day 8: Dawson City - Whitehorse
Today there is a stop to visit the infamous Five Finger Rapids
Day 9: Whitehorse
Yukon is at your free disposal for sightseeing in and around Whitehorse, the capitol of the Yukon.
Day 10: Whitehorse - Haines Junction
Todays you will encounter scenic points of interest inviting you to stop before reaching Haines Junction - situated right next to Kluane National Park Canada's biggest national park
Day 11: Haines Junction - Tok
Today we drive along the scenic shore of the huge Lake Kluane. In Tok you may visit a sled dog demonstration.
Day 12: Tok - Valdez
The first part of todays stretch will lead us via the Glenn Highway along countless rivers, lakes, glaciers and finally the majestic Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Then we will drive the Richardson Highway southbound to the small seaport of Valdez at the Pacific coast.
Day 13: Valdez - Whittier - Anchorage
Today we travel the Prince William Sound via ferry. Concluding this eventful stage, we drive along the Turnagain Arm into Anchorage.
Day 14: Anchorage (Departure)
Anchorage offers you a variety of options on the last day of your trip. (Transfer of the tour group members from the hotel to the Anchorage airport or personal projects instead.) |
