The Oasis Caravan South is one of our Middle East, Egypt and Turkey Overland Trips that we offer you to explore the highlights of Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and Syria, as well as tasting for yourself the Egyptian and Middle Eastern food and culture and Greek and Roman history of the region. Middle East Tour D 1 - 4 From Istanbul we begin our journey with a half day drive to Gallipoli and the Straits of the Dardanelles. We visit Troy on our way to Ephesus and spend the next 2 nights camping on the coast or in the nearby town of Selcuk. We then travel via either Pamukkale or take the more scenic route towards Marmaris and camp in the mountains.
Middle East Tour D 5 - 10 we head to Olu Deniz and Olympus further down the Mediterranean coast. We stay in campsites or tree houses. Saklikent Gorge where there is the opportunity to go river tubing. Cappadocia, churches, fortresses and even underground cities.
Middle East Tour D 11 - 17 Syria, Aleppo, visit Crac de Chevaliers, Crusader Castle, the oasis town of Palmyra, Damascus, one of the friendliest and safest of capital cities.
MIDDLE EAST TOUR D 18 - 24 Jordan and the Dead Sea. The Rose Red City of Petra. we desert camp over night at Wadi Rum, we take the ferry across the Red Sea to the Sinai Desert.
Middle East Tour D 25 - 29 Dahab, snorkel or scuba dive, Mount Sinai and St. Catherine's Monastery, Suez Canal drive to Luxor Via Hurghada.
Middle East Tour D 30 - 37 Luxor, visit Valley of the Kings & Queens (by donkey!), Karnak Temple and its Sound and Light Show and Luxor Temple. We then travel onto Aswan, Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo. Cairo on an overnight train ride. visit to the Sphinx and Pyramids of Giza, visit the Egyptian History Museum Then back to the hotel for an end of trip party
