Day 1 Nairobi to Lake Naivasha
Our journey starts in Nairobi the centre of safari country.
After a short meeting about our journey, the keys to the land rover are handed over. We visit David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, a very successful project where life skills are taught to rescued orphaned elephants by their dedicated handlers before their eventual release into Tsavo NP.
We continue to Lake Naivasha, a 3 hour drive from Nairobi to our night stop.
Day 2 Elsamere
Our day begins with a gentle walking safari and an opportunity to spot giraffe, zebra, eland and other animals. We return to camp for a hearty brunch and some rest time before visiting Elsamere.
Elsamere is one of the original homes of George and Joy Adamson or better known from the books and films "Born Free".Day 3 Masai Mara
We enter Hells Gate NP for a short game drive transiting through the park to the other side where our good dirt road turns into a rough dirt track. The "African shortcut" takes us on a unique adventure through villages who never see tourists. We eventually rejoin the main road and enter the Masai MaraDay 4 Masai Mara
The 7th Natural Wonder of the World and location for filming the BBC series "Big Cats" - the Masai Mara needs no introduction. Famous for numerous wildlife, stunning scenery and vast plains the Masai Mara will not disappoint. We spend the day game driving at our leisure.Day 5 Masai Mara Kenana Farm
A final game drive early in the morning completes our time in the Masai Mara before departing for Kenana Farm near the town of Njoro. Kenana Farm boasts a wonderful campsite complete with hot showers, clean drop toilets and a cozy bar area with a roaring open fire - the ideal place to indulge in a cold tusker beer or glass of wine!
Day 6 Kembu and Lake Nakuru
A bit of a sleep in before taking a guided tour around Kembu, a working Kenyan farm, famous for breeding thoroughbred race horses. Taking some time to visit the local women’s knitting project and a spot of shopping for friends back home we depart Njoro for Nakuru Town. Nakuru Town boasts a vibrant local souvenir market worth taking some time to explore and buy extra souvenirs before heading into our last but certainly not least impressive game park – Lake Nakuru NP.
We enter Lake Nakuru NP, a small park with a very large Rhino population! This park has an abundance of wildlife from Rhino to lion to giraffe, zebra and bushbuck as well as many other animals. We game drive in the afternoon before setting up camp near Mikalia Falls.Day 7 Nairobi
A final game drive in the morning is a great way to end our unique safari experience. We meet as a group at the lookout, Baboon Cliff, and enjoy brunch while overlooking the lake from our high vantage point.
We depart the park and make our way back to Nairobi arriving approx. 3 pm in the afternoon.
