ITINERARY: The Royal Safari - Entebbe to Victoria Falls Overland Safari

Day 1:
We begin our Entebbe to Victoria Falls Overland Safaris in Entebbe, the former Colonial capital of Uganda on the shores of Lake Victoria.

Day 2 - 4:
Our first stop is Jinja the Adventure Capital of East Africa an the mighty Nile River. There is also the option to spend the day with Soft Power Community Project.

Day 5 - 6:
We continue into Kenya and through the Kenyan western highlands, along the top of the Rift Valley, stopping enroute to take photos of the longest Valley in the World (6,000km!). 
Nakuru Game Park with thousands of pink flamingoes is the perfect back drop for a group photo.

Day 7:
We arrive back in Nairobi, shower and pull our going out clothes for a night of feasting and dancing at the world famous Carnivores Restaurant.

Day 8:
Visit to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. This not a zoo but a place where orphaned elephants are bought and hand-reared before being re-educated and released back into the wild to start their own families.

After lunch, the Nairobi Giraffe Centre? Amazing photo opportunities from the custom built platform (eye level to the giraffes!).

Day 9 - 12:
Crossing into Tanzania as we pass the snow cap peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro, arriving at Meserani in time to visit a traditional Maasai Village and Cultural Centre.
The following morning we depart in small 4x4 vehicles on safari to  the Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater.

We spend 3 days in the wild savannah plains amongst the African Big 5.

Day 13:
Our Africa overland tour continues from Arusha to Dar Es Salaam, the day is long but we pass through some interesting villages along our way. We reach Dar Es Salaam early evening, we set up camp and enjoy a cold beer while enjoying a soft cool breeze coming from the Indian Ocean.

Day 14 - 17:
The group boards the ferry to spend 4 nights on the famous Spice Island of Zanzibar.

Day 18 - 20:
After a lazy morning we say goodbye to Zanzibar and white tropical beaches and return by ferry to Dar Es Salaam to be met by the overland truck. We have a final night in Dar Es Salaam before heading inland.

Day 21 - 23:
We spend a few days exploring Lake Malawi shores. The campsites we stay are very basic and laid-back – summing up Malawi in general. In saying that the people are warm and friendly and the pace a little slower; and no overland safari in Africa would be complete without a few days to chill in Malawi.

Day 24:
We bid farewell to Malawi and enter Zambia. Our first stop along the way is just after the small border town of Chipata.

Day 25 - 26:
Overlanding on some particularly bad roads we arrive at our "home" for the coming 2 nights - Flat Dogs Campsite; flat dog = crocodile in the local language. The campsite is situated on the banks of the Luangwa.

South Luangwa National Park is famous for its Leopard, Lion, Giraffe, hippos, crocodiles, hyena and aardvark. It is one of the few parks where night game drives as well as walking safaris are possible.

Day 27 - 28:
We depart South Luangwa and continue, spending a night in Lusaka, the Capital of Zambia.

Day 29 - 31:
Long before the Entebbe to Victoria Falls Overland Safari approaches its final destination we can see the mist coming from the famous Victoria Falls in the distance, the options are endless.
