Oasis Overland South

From the Pyramids of Giza to the majestic city of Petra, the Dead Sea and desert camping at Wadi Rum, you will experience the highlights of travel to the Middle East in our popular and action-packed 21 day overland adventure. The Oasis Overland South is one of three Middle East and Egypt Overland Trips that we offer you to explore the highlights of Egypt and Jordan, as well as tasting for yourself the Egyptian and Middle Eastern food and culture and Greek and Roman history of the region.

The Oasis Overland South starts in Damascus Syria and finishes in Cairo Egypt, if you wish to start the tour in Cairo Egypt look at the Oasis Overland North for departure dates for this tour in reverse

Oasis Overland D 1 Arrival day / Free Day. Syria. Your tour leader will meet you at the hotel reception at 6pm to take you to the campsite where the truck will be.

Oasis Overland D 2 & 3 Damascus it is possible to join a one day excursion into Lebanon , city tour of Beirut.

Oasis Overland D 4 & 5 Jordan, Mt. Nebo, views over Israel, the Dead Sea and walls of Jericho. visiting St. Georges Church. The Dead Sea.

Oasis Overland D 6 & 7 Hotel at Petra. Rose Red City of Petra.

Oasis Overland D 8, 9 & 10 Wadi Rum desert camp overnight. The following morning we depart Jordan by ferry and cross the Red Sea from Aquaba in Jordan to Nuweiba in Egypt.

Oasis Overland D 11 Dahab on the Red Sea coast, here you can snorkel or scuba dive to some of the best coral in the world.

Oasis Overland D 12, 13 & 14 From Dahab we drive to St. Catherine's Monastery to climb Mt Sinai. Crossing the Suez Canal we leave the Sinai desert for a drive via Hurghada, before continuing on to Aswan.

Oasis Overland D 15 & 16 Aswan, two days here in a simple locally owned hotel. visit Abu Simbel, Elephantine Island.

Oasis Overland D 17 & 18 We take a traditional Egyptian sailboat or 'felucca' on the Nile River. We spend the next two days aboard, We have the option of Edfu and Kom Ombo and visiting the Temple of Horus, before arriving in Luxor.

Oasis Overland D 19 & 20 In Luxor we visit Valley of the Kings on donkeys, option Valley of the Queens and Valley of the Workers, Queen Hatshepsuts Temple, Karnak Temple with its sound and light show, and Luxor Temple. overnight sleeper train to Cairo.

Oasis Overland D 21 For the finale of our trip we include a visit to the Sphinx and Pyramids of Giza, with a local guide, a visit the Egyptian History Museum.
