Day 1.
Santiago (Chile)
Our tour begins in the cosmopolitan capital of Santiago. The tour officially begins at 6pm in the evening at our joining hotel where we will have a pre-departure meeting. You will be welcomed by your tour leader who will accompany you throughout your time in South America. They will inform you of any local information and handy hints and tips relating to your tour and the area through which you will be travelling.
Following this we will enjoy a lovely meal at one of Santiago’s many fine restaurants, giving us the opportunity to get to know each other in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Day 2.
Maipu & Colchagua Valleys (Chile)
We leave Santiago and take a short drive south into the Maipu and Colchagua Valleys, famous for producing some of the country’s finest wines. We will take the opportunity to tour a local vineyard and sample some of the great wines on offer, in particular the Cabernet Sauvignon variety which thrives during the grape growing season due to the hot sunny climate in this part of Chile.

Day 3.
Pucon (Chile)
Journeying south we pass through small villages and past picturesque lakes and mountains to arrive into Pucon, located in the heart of Chile’s Lake District. There are twelve major lakes in the district, with dozens more dotting the landscape. Between the lakes there are rivers, waterfalls, forests, thermal hot springs, and the Andes, including six volcano’s with Villarica being the highest at 2,847 m.

Day 4.
Pucon (Chile)
Enjoy a day walking through the Huerquehue National Park which protects 12500 hectares of rivers, waterfalls, alpine lakes and forest.

Day 5.
Pucon (Chile)
Today you have a day at leisure where it is possible to organise numerous outdoor activities such as a day hike up the Villarica Volcano to reach the fiery crater, kayaking, mountain biking, horse riding, whitewater rafting and even sky diving, or simply relaxing by the lake admiring the beauty of your surroundings. In the evening enjoy a relaxing soak in one of the many natural hot springs scattered through out the area.

Day 6.
Bariloche (Argentina)
West of Pucon we cross into Argentina and travel through the Lakes District enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery and the numerous glacially formed lakes for which the region is named. In the afternoon we arrive in the resort town of Bariloche, nestled peacefully on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake.

Day 7.
Bariloche (Argentina)
Today we head along the lake to explore the scenic Circuito Chico taking in panoramic views of the lake and the Nahuel Huapi national park as well as enjoying the opportunity to stroll through the grounds of Argentina’s most famous resort, Llao Llao.

Day 8.
Bariloche (Argentina)
A day of leisure here gives you time to pursue interests such as fishing, horse riding on a local estancia, playing golf, paragliding or walking one of the many great walking tracks available in the area.

Day 9.
Los Alerces National Park (Argentina)
A little further south we arrive at Los Alerces National Park home to the ancient Alerce tree and a region of contrasting beauty. Here we will meet our support crew and vehicle and will enjoy our first night camping in this peaceful landscape.

Day 10.
Futaleufu (Chile)
 We cross the mighty Futeleufu river into Chile’s remote southern region, the Carretera Austral.
The Carretera Austral (Southern Road) is a remote, unspoiled region of intense natural beauty and is often referred to as one of South America’s best road trips.

Day 11.
Futaleufu (Chile)
Here we have many walks to enjoy such as a hike along the raging Futaleufu River. Alternatively enjoy some top class fishing in the many lakes and rivers or horse riding through the valley. For adventure seekers there are opportunities to raft some of the many rivers in the region including the Grade 5 Futeleufu.

Day 12.
Quelat National Park (Chile)
Today get up close to a spectacular hanging Glacier in the Queulat National Park and enjoy some time in the park which hosts a great variety of different animal and plant species.

Day 13.
Route 40 (Argentina)
We pass back into Argentina and onto the infamous Route 40, paralleling the remarkable Andean mountain range. We travel through the vast Patagonian plains stopping overnight at a remote Estancia which still operates as a working sheep and horse ranch.

Day 14.
El Chalten (Argentina)
Further on we will arrive in El Chalten, and the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. This ice field is the world’s 3rd largest reserve of fresh water. Here we will leave our support crew and camping vehicle and enjoy lodgings in our hotel nestled quietly under the imposing peaks of Mount Fitzroy, named after the captain of
the Beagle, who navigated Darwin’s Expedition of the area in 1834.

Day 15.
El Chalten (Argentina)
We will take a boat trip here across the lake to the Viedma Glacier, the largest in Argentina, where we will have the opportunity to explore ice caves and take a walk atop this mighty ice sheet.

Day 16 .
El Calafate
Enjoy a morning at leisure to explore the El Chalten region and its many walking tracks before we take a short drive around Lake Argentina to the town of El Calafate. This will be our base to visit the impressive Perito Moreno glacier, one of the earth’s most dynamic and accessible ice fields.

Day 17.
El Calafate
Visiting the glacier we can witness from a series of walkways huge chucks of ice breaking free from the face of the glacier and crashing with a mighty roar into the water. A boat trip along the face of the glacier gives us the opportunity to admire its impressive height that reaches at points to 100 meters from the water level and stretches 5 kilometres from edge to edge.

Day 18.
Torres Del Paine National Park
Crossing again into Chile we arrive at Torres Del Paine National Park where our support crew and vehicle await us once again. Camping on the edge of the picturesque Lake Pehoe under the constant watch of the towering granite peaks and circling condors this will be our base to explore what is to many South Americas finest national park. While in this area of unparalleled beauty, enjoy day hikes through emerald forests, to magnificent glaciers, along alpine rivers and lakes, with picturesque mountain vistas while. Each day returning to comfort of our camp and a freshly prepared meal.

Day 19.
Torres Del Paine National Park (Chile)
Today our trekking takes us to the foot of the impressive granite massif of El Paine. From here we admire the Paine Towers from the best possible viewpoints. The famous Torres del Paine (2900m / 9400ft) consist of three granite monoliths, the remains of a great cirque that has been sheared away by the forces of glacial ice.

Day 20.
Torres Del Paine National Park (Chile)
Enjoy a hike to view the mighty Grey’s Glacier which delivers the giant South Patagonic icefield to the lakes edge. From the view point the surrounding scenery is very impressive with numerous large icebergs drifting across the water and great views across the face of the glacier. There is also the opportunity to proceed to the foot of the glacier to get an up close impression.

Day 21.
Torres Del Paine National Park (Chile)
Today you have the opportunity to trek through the scenic French Valley formed by impressive cliffs and glaciers. Alternatively there is the option of horse riding through the park, trout fishing, kayaking or simply relaxing in one of the most stunning natural regions on earth.

Day 22.
Punta Arenas (Chile)
Having spent four nights inside Torres Del Paine National Park we drive south to Punta Arenas stopping on the way to visit Seno Otway penguin colony, home to approximately 6000 breeding pairs. The penguins make this spot of shoreline on the Strait of Magellan their home. They live in small burrows in the ground where they raise their young and can be seen marching back and forth from their burrows and the sea where they search for food.

Day 23.
Rio Grande (Argentina)
Continuing across the Straights of Magellan, the once-vital passageway is named for the Portuguese adventurer, Ferdinand Magellan, the first explorer to circumnavigate the globe, we arrive on the island of Tierra Del Fuego (Land of Fire). This southern region of islands, waterways, mountains and forest is a unique and beautiful area to explore and enjoy.

Day 24.
Ushuaia (Argentina)
Today we arrive into the most southerly city in the world, Ushuaia, our final destination. Enjoy an afternoon boat trip on the Beagle Channel which offers the chance to spot marine wildlife including Royal albatrosses, giant petrels, skuas, cormorants, South American terns, Magellanic penguins and lots of gulls and ducks as well as resident sea mammals such as sea lions, Peale's dolphins, minke whales and, if you're lucky, killer whales or southern right whales.
In the afternoon enjoy breath-taking views of the channel and surrounding mountains as you stroll through this scenic town.

Day 25.
Ushuaia (Argentina)
Spend a day walking in the Tierra Del Fuego National Park which offers the southernmost example of the Andean - Patagonian forest before ending the tour with a meal at one of Ushuaia’s great port side seafood restaurants.

Day 26.
Depart, Your tour concludes after breakfast this morning. Your tour leader will assist you with a transfer to the airport for your out bound flight.
