We cross into the north of Zimbabwe to Victoria Falls. We stay in Victoria Falls town in Zimbabwe, above the falls. The Zambezi River plunges 100 metres down a mile wide chasm, creating one of the most incredible natural wonders of the world. The local name for the falls is 'Mosi-oa-Tunya' meaning 'smoke that thunders' when the river is in full flow, the falling water causes a huge roar and sends clouds of spray 500 metres high. We normally all eat out at one of the hotels beside the Falls.(B)

Day 7 - Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls

Adventure day - bungee jump, white water raft, and go game-viewing on horse back. More sedate excursions include; canoeing, light aircraft or helicopter flights over the falls and the sunset cruise on the Zambezi. The falls themselves are the main attraction and you can walk through the rain forest along the cliff opposite for an excellent view. Here you can walk with lion cubs. (B,D)

Day 8 – Botswana, Chobe River

An early start and a stunning drive through arid land. We cross the border to Botswana where the country becomes lush and forested as we approach Chobe River; here the river cruise with excellent game viewing is a must. (B,D)

Day 9 – Botswana, Okavango Delta

We travel along the edge of the Kalahari Desert to Maun; a small town on the edge of the Okavango Delta and the starting point for the Mokoro trip. The Delta is formed by the Kavango River fanning out into the vast flats of the Kalahari Desert forming an enormous wetland. It’s the home to lots of animals the easiest to see been hippo, buffalo and elephant. (B,L,D)

Day 10 – Botswana, Okavango Delta

For the trip into the Delta pack; an overnight bag, food, cooking and camping equipment and you’re off. A short drive to the dugout canoes, called Mokoros and you punt out into the delta along reed lined waterways. The guides find an island for the night and set up camp. As you glide through the waterways, you will see a fantastic array of wetland wildlife, birds in particular, and you will come across hippos in the water and elephants drinking from the shore. You can go on a walking safari to look for giraffe, buffalo and rare antelope. The overnight stay is a great wilderness experience.
